Disciples Down Under Encouraged by Antons

Tuesday, 24 July 2012 02:22

Ed and Deb Anton's recent trip to New Zealand was a great encouragement for the Central Auckland Church of Christ. Their giving hearts were very well received by the fellowship!

Impacting lessons on repentance and community were just the beginning of a couple of very spiritually packed weeks.

The Anton's arrived ready to serve and had done their homework with a knowledge of New Zealand that most Kiwi's would be proud of. Being off the beaten track, it is really important to hear news from all around the kingdom.

Probably the most impacting aspect of the Anton's visit was their "realness". Their willingness to be open, vulnerable and eager to share their hearts with us really helped to build relationships we are sure will last a lifetime - and beyond!

It helped the church to see repentance is now viewed as something to look forward to rather than focusing on the past. This ‘mind-set’ has percolated through the fellowship and become a more consistent focus during
discipling times. Also couples are having breakthroughs in their marriages after identifying character sins through ‘Epitamao’ (exposure) to continue the process of refinement. One of the couples raved about how that time
really helped them in their relationship.

We feel we have been revitalised & refreshed. Momentum is building here in Auckland and we are sure God has many great things to come. We hope that will include a return visit by Ed and Deb!

Love in Him,

Scott Cushman on behalf of the deacons
