Friendships on earth are incredible but it would be extraordinary if they could continue up in heaven. We want to share an encouraging story with you.
Constance is the childhood friend of our sister Honorine Kalala for 28 years. Honorine has been inviting her to church for 20 years. Constance studied the Bible several times but without success. However, Honorine continued to pray and fast for her so that she would someday become a disciple of Jesus.
About two years ago, Constance moved to Atlanta with her husband because of his job. Honorine tried to put her in touch with the local church to continue with Bible studies, but Constance could not find the church that was close to her neighborhood.
Honorine decided to go to Atlanta herself to study the Bible with her friend while she was in the US after Reach2016 in St. Louis. She studied topics from “discipleship” to “light and darkness,” and then connected Constance to the women’s ministry leader and other sisters of the Atlanta Church of Christ in Gwinnett. They continued studying the Bible to help Constance become a disciple of Jesus.
After completing the studies, Constance was baptized in Christ on October 19, 2016! It took 20 years for Constance to study the Bible, but God prepared her heart to see the light and get baptized. Constance’s husband started studying the Bible as well.
We must insist, persevere and fast to show our friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbors and all who do not know the true way of God. Many are those who are trapped in the chains of deceit and false teachings leading to perdition. We can save them by relying on the Lord’s power and persisting to bring them to salvation.
