Transition Home for Haitian Youth Seeks Financial Support

Imagine having a teenage boy crying to you in a language you barely understand. I was at an orphanage in Ganthier, Haiti and had formed such close bonds with the kids. When Kenslove started crying as he told me that he was going to age out of the orphanage, tears welled up in my eyes and my heart broke...His situation was so bad; something had to be done, but what? I just sat next to him as he cried, hoping my presence would comfort him. Other teenage orphans came over when they saw him in tears, then I learned the horrible truth that they all had to leave soon; they had no hope for their lives.

Greater Houston ICOC Appoints 2 Evangelists and Women's Ministry Leaders

The Greater Houston Church of Christ is excited to announce the appointment of two new evangelists and women's ministry leaders, Barret and Rachel O'Connell, and Jason and Carmen Lugo.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction...But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry” -- 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 5.

At the Eleventh Hour

I would like to share a story with you. It’s about my Dad.

My father was born in 1941. He’s 72.5 years old. From ordinary, humble beginnings he has had a pretty extraordinary life. But I don’t have time to tell you about it. And, to be honest, I believe there are things I still don’t know. Like, for example he told me on Wednesday that he had been to Egypt. Who knew? I never knew. Maybe I’ll write a book.

Over 3000 Gather for U.S. Midwest Conference

On January 17 - 19, 2014, over 3000 disciples from around the Midwest family of the International Churches of Christ came together to kick off 2014 in an inspiring and powerful way. Braving frigid temperatures and unpredictable snow, brothers and sisters loaded into their cars, hopped onto airplanes, buses and even trains to share in this inspiring time together.

Hosted by the Chicago Church of Christ, what began as a conference became a giant family reunion. Adding to the incredible fellowship was powerful preaching, in-depth teaching, inspiring worship, and a deepening of our conviction to be attuned to God’s everyday call in our lives.

Floods, Landslides in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

The 29 disciples and the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines request your prayers and support as we continue to recover from the effects of severe floods and landslides that occurred on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2013). The floods and landslides were as a result of an unexpected low-level trough system and resulted in significant damage to our road network and water system, the destruction of homes and most sadly, the loss of lives.
