We are all greatly affected by our environment. Too many days of darkness and dreariness will depress even the most positive and cheerful among us. On the other hand, a bright, clear spring day lightens our steps and lifts our spirits! The same is true of the places we live. How do you feel when you arrive home only to be greeted by dirty dishes all over the counter and in the sink, piles of dirty laundry in every room, unmade beds and filthy bathrooms? I don’t know about you, but just the thought of this scene makes me feel burdened and depressed. We do not have to live like this, and in fact, disciples must not live like this! The real challenge, however, is not the great, inevitable clean-up; it is to keep it clean.
Cleanliness: Consistent, but not Compulsive Featured

God is “the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Everything God is and does demonstrates his constancy and consistency—the flow of the seasons year after year, the coming of every new day, the utter reliability of his promises. God is always there, always working for our good, always working to sustain and maintain this world in which we live.
