Legacies of Faith 2: Continual Teachers

My name is Lory Demshar. I became a disciple in 1972. I was raised as a Catholic in a small town in Pennsylvania. After graduating from Penn State, I began teaching in Salisbury, Maryland where after a conversation about seeking God, a Physical Education teacher asked me to study the Bible. Growing up, I had heard of the Bible; in fact we had a large family Bible on our coffee table which we never read. The summer after I was baptized, I did not work, but instead spent the days reading the Bible from Genesis through to Revelation. I was absolutely enthralled by what I was reading and learning about God. Stories in the Word that we may associate with children or think of as simple Bible stories really deeply reveal God to us. It was at that time that I developed a deep conviction of our need to continually study the Bible and to teach it to others.

La Alabanza a nuestro Dios

Dolly Hernández (pictured at the top of the pyramid) is one of the campus students in Santiago, Chile. She is studying Kinesiology at that Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello. She was baptized as a high school student and has a great passion for singing. This devotional about praising God through song is one that she wrote for the sisters in the campus ministry in Santiago.
