Understanding Grief, part 2
The definition of grief and loss are often equated to the death of a person or the loss of a significant relationship. Grief, however, is also the feeling of conflict that arises when we have changes in familiar patterns in our environment. Although it is natural and normal to respond to change of any kind, some may experience a sense of grief. This may occur when we lose a pet, move to a different city, start a new job, have a health change, retire, or become empty nesters.
