"When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." -- Psalm 126:1-3
That's exactly what the Lord did at the combined Berlin Leadership Summit and IMS Board meeting held at the end of June. The goal was that all those in attendance, both young and old, would remember that God is the ultimate dreamer and his greatest dream is to use us to win this world for him.
The three day event featured guest speakers from Europe, the Midwest and New England. Scott Green, evangelist for the Berlin church, opened the event with a faith-inspiring lesson entitled "Men who Dream," reminding us that dreams and visions are our spiritual birthright.
Through all the inspirational messages, vulnerable sharing, spirit-filled prayers and strategic planning, those who were there could not help but be inspired to dream like they have never dreamed before. As one young intern from Paris stated, "The weekend has reminded me that God is able to do more than I can ask or imagine. I just need to imagine it." Expressing thoughts that many can relate to, Normen Rohde stated, "I am closing a chapter of my life where I felt like dreaming is something dangerous, you could get hurt. But I want to open a new chapter, I want to dream again, to see what God can do in my life."
The IMS board meeting held on Saturday focused on our strategy for evangelizing Europe, and how to accomplish this. One of the highlights of the meeting was the moving sharing from European leaders like Thierry Fender from Geneva and Sebastian Maass from Germany, who helped us to understand the journey of the European churches as they have navigated the challenges of the past decade.
The weekend concluded with an awe-inspiring service with the Berlin disciples, followed by lunch together. Let us continue to pray and sacrifice for the work of the IMS in particular for the work in Europe.
