We rejoice with the angels in heaven that 531 souls were either baptized or restored in 2007 in the Los Angeles Church of Christ.
GOD'S FELLOW WORKERS
1 Cor 3:5-9 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe-as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. We are truly blessed by God to have these wonderful brothers and sisters added to our family last year.
Thanks to all of you who were God's fellow workers in saving these dear souls: those who initially shared their faith, those who showed the love of Christ, those who studied the Word and taught the truth and grace of God. And thanks again for all those churches who, for the first 10 years, sacrificed so many leaders and resources to begin and build this congregation. Truly these new births were the fruit of God's family working together!
However, with all our efforts and self-denial, we must never forget that our God is the one responsible for making things grow. His Word has the power to expose, soften, and transform the hardest of hearts. (Hebrews 4:12,13) His spiritual design is such that he has commissioned us to be the spiritual sowers and waterers of His Word (Matt 28:18-20) which is, without a doubt, a great responsibility and privilege; but ultimately, it is God who "made it grow!"
We are thrilled that much more seed is being sown and watered here in the first month of this new year! As we launch into 2008, let us remember that it is God who is at work in us and His Word to fulfil this great commission, so that even more can be added to our number by Him.
