Shashikant Sakat (48 yrs old) and his wife Varsha Sakat (40) got baptised on the 27th of April 2010. They have four children, the elder son is 23 yrs. Sakat works with the BMC. Hailing from a traditional Christian background, but still involved in idol worship, last year they were earnestly praying for a true fellowship.
In the month of February Ramesh Alhat, a disciple in Mumbai Church of Christ, invited him to church and Sakat started studying the Bible. Eventually he brought his wife to church and she started studying the Bible as well.
In the first study they were challenged to give up Idol worship they were convicted by the scriptures and they went home and removed all the idols from their house. The day of their baptism was amazing as three of their children, two sons and a daughter witnessed the miracle of God and the children are inspired to study the Bible.
