A special Singles Workshop tagged 'Career and Personal Development' was recently held at the Ikeja Facility of the International Church of Christ - Nigeria church. The program, aimed at developing and motivating the Singles in their career, had almost 200 in attendance.
Some of the classes taught at the Workshop includes: Resume Development, a class which objective was to teach Singles how to put together a quality resume, taught by Tutu Songonuga; Personal Development and Objectives, taught by Manali Shah; The Skills of a Craftman taught by Ozua Orji and Rotimi Aronge; Workshop Skills by Caroline Okafor and Let's Get Fit by Taiwo Daramola.
Some participants spoke on the need to continually organize workshops for the Singles. "This Workshop has met my needs, professionally," Femi Nelson, a Single brother from Ojo-Apapa Region said. "I'm fresh out of school and I've been looking for an opportunity to learn how to put together a quality Resume. The class taught by Tutu (Songonuga) really came handy and I thank God and the Church for putting together a Workshop like this to meet our career needs as Singles."
For Foluke Adeleye, "The classes were awesome. I've learned that to impact the world I must first learn to develop myself. The major goal of this workshop is for Singles in the Church to constantly improve themselves and not be satisfied with where they are presently. I need to grow in my knowledge, career and character."
The Couple who helped put together the program, Tony and Esther Ogbokri, in their closing remarks commended all the regional Singles Coordinators and thanked the Singles for the large turn-out and also promised to make the development of the (Singles) Ministry a priority.
