Dear Lydia: Financial Situation
Dear "Lydia",
I enjoy reading your advice, now I am writing because I need some.
My husband and I are friends with another Christian couple. They are having some financial difficulty and have been for some time: Things are usually 'tight' with them. The husband is now contemplating a part-time job to supplement their income. I really feel for them and I want to be able to help them when we speak and their finances come up.
Legacies of Faith 4: Rooms of our Heart
January 1988, the day of my Baptism, holds a very special place in my heart. Becoming a disciple at 48 years of age still amazes me. Only through the grace of God did I start my spiritual journey in midlife.
Even at 75, I am still asking God to mature, refine, and transform me to become a woman of deep faith. The "rooms of my heart" theme was chosen to reveal my personal walk with God. The Bible has so many scriptures about the heart. The one that inspired me most when writing these thoughts was Prov. 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heat, for it is the wellspring of life”. This was the springboard to begin a "Heart" theme.
Knowing that a healthy heart is vital for life, I wanted to find a way to express how vital God’s Word is in our daily walk. It is the wellspring that nourishes us so completely. I treasure the moments in my rooms and hopefully you will find your room of great worth in God’s eyes.
